Week 2 Update: The Grind Never Stops

Week 2 of the Fish & Chips Poker 0 to 5K Challenge. Live sessions, key hands, profits, and next week’s poker goals. Follow the grind and learn from real bankroll growth.

Week 2 Recap: Less Volume, More Lessons

Didn’t play as much as I wanted this week — only 6.5 hours live and 3.5 hours online.

Some personal stuff came up, but that’s part of the journey. You can’t control everything, but you can always control how you show up when the cards are in the air.

The Action

My longest session was Wednesday… and it started rough.

First hand, I pick up JJ in the cutoff, 3-bet to $45, and get two callers.

Flop comes 4-high, I fire $45 again, and one player jams for $110. Not much room to fold here, so I call. Down $130 on hand one.

No panic. Switched tables, found a splashy lineup, and got it all back.

Thursday’s short session? Smooth sailing. Soft table, easy reads, walked away up $235.

That’s poker — survive the swings, capitalize on the edges.

Progress Report

The weekly goal was $420, so we’re slightly behind pace.

Two-week total: $827, just shy of the $840 target. A quick correction with a little more grind time.

Stats through Week 2:

  • Total Profit: $26.90/hour
  • Live Profit: $36.15/hour
  • Online Profit: $12.12/hour (only playing $40NL so far)

Not bad for limited volume — but we’re aiming higher.

Next Week’s Mission

Time to put in the hours and stack some chips.

Goals for Week 3:

  •  12+ hours live
  •  5 hours online
  •  $500 profit target to get back on track

This challenge isn’t just about the numbers — it’s about consistency, mindset, and proving that disciplined play beats variance over time. The bankroll’s moving, the focus is sharp, and the grind continues.

Let’s go get some chips.
